In addition to Campus Ministry at UNE, and the Young Families Fellowship, there are also events and opportunities for all young adults (18-39), most notably our monthly Theology on Tap event. Theology on Tap is a gathering of young adults that features food, drink, fellowship, and engaging discussions on spiritual topics. It is typically held on the 3rd Thursday of the month in Portland or Saco. Please see the beginning of our Spring, 2019 lineup below. January 17 (Thur): Theology on Tap with Fr Steven Cartwright: “Don’t Walk It Alone: The Importance of Christian Community” – Our journey with God was not meant to be traveled alone. Come join other young adults as Fr Steven Cartwright reflects on the importance of Christian community and friendships. Fr Steven is a Parochial Vicar for the Sebago Lake Region Parishes. February 21 (Thur): Theology on Tap with Merissa Newton-Mills: “Faith and Science in the 21st Century: A Story of Complementarity” – Merissa Newton-Mills has an MA in Philosophy and teaches the Philosophy of Science at the University of New England in Biddeford. She is also a devout Catholic. In this presentation, Merissa will explore the complementarity between faith and science, the faith of great scientists throughout history, and the discoveries of 20-21st century physics that support the idea of the existence of God, free will, and man’s being in God’s image and likeness.
