"At the heart of the Eucharistic celebration are the bread and wine that, by the words of Christ and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, become Christ's Body and Blood."(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1333)
A child's "First" Communion should be the first of thousands, as we are commanded by Christ Himself to "Do this in memory of me." In the Gospel of John, Christ invites us to union with Him in the Sacrament: "Truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53)
Children prepare for the reception of the Holy Eucharist after 2 years of Sacramental Prepartion.
